Bulgarian set for move to La Liga.
Bolton winger and former Bulgarian international Martin Petrov has signed a contract with Spanish league side Espanyol, BBC Sport has reported today.
Petrov, who turns 34 on Tuesday, has passed the medical checks and signed a deal with the Spanish team until the end of next season, the sports news website said without providing details.
Espanyol manager Javier Aguirre already coached Petrov at Atletico Madrid in 2006-2007.
Petrov has spent two and a half seasons at the Reebok Stadium, prior to which the talented winger was at Man City for three seasons and has racked up a total of 157 appearances and 24 goals during his time in England.
The experienced wide-man will hope to display enough quality over the second half of the La Liga campaign to earn himself an extended stay at the Barcelona based club.
