Emirates Stadium side to make Upton Park enforcer bid.
Arsenal are poised to make a bid for West Ham midfielder Mohamed Diame according to The Sun.
West Ham have offered the Senegal international a new contract just over six months since he joined the East London side, a deal that will see the former Wigan Athletic man’s release clause from the current level of £3.5m to £7m.
The tough tackling rangy midfielder has been in excellent form for the Hammers this season but will certainly be tempted by a move to the Emirates Stadium.
There are still seven Chelsea vs Arsenal tickets available!
Arsene Wenger will send scouts to monitor his performance as West Ham take on Man United in their FA Cup replay tomorrow night and will then consider making an offer that will trigger his relatively cheap release clause.
Wenger could well do with a strong steely presence in his midfield and the Gunners boss may see Diame as an ideal replacement for Alex Song, a player the Frenchman didn’t have time to replace following the Cameroon international’s move to Barcelona late in the summer transfer window.
