Old Trafford side continue to scout Benfica defender.
Sir Alex Ferguson has once again sent scouts to monitor the progress of Argentine defender Ezequiel Garay ahead of a likely summer bid for the £15m rated centre-back branded the ‘New Vidic’ by the Daily Mail.

The Old Trafford boss is looking for long term replacements for veteran Rio Ferdinand and injury prone Serb Nemanja Vidic and appears to hold Benfica defender Garay in high regard.
United have sent representatives to run the rule over 26 year old Garay at games against Sporting Lisbon and Olhanense
and scouts for the Premier League table toppers were in attendance as the weekend’s big Benfica vs Porto encounter, which ended 2-2.
Benfica are three points clear at the top of the Portuguese Liga but are in something of a financial pickle and may well need to sell the 26-year-old this summer.
Juventus are also said to be keen on the battling defender who has 11 international caps to his name and is successfully righting his career after a troubled three year stint at Real Madrid, indeed the La Liga side will receive a significant portion of any funds garnered from Garay’s sale.
