Walcott’s new Emirates deal to be confirmed this week.
Theo Walcott’s new three-and-a-half year deal at Arsenal should be confirmed by the weekend, manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed.
It has been reported that Walcott’s future has been sorted and he will remain at the club for a further three seasons after the current campaign and earn around £100,000 a week – breaking the wage structure that had been the cause of the departures of Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy and Robin Van Persie in recent seasons.

Plenty of Chelsea vs Arsenal tickets still available
Despite no official confirmation of the new deal, Wenger said: “My optimism is at 99% now. I was scared that he could leave. It took us some time to get where we want to get and it’s still not finalised, but hopefully it will be done by this weekend.”
Walcott was thought to be wanting a guarantee that he would be used in a central striker role rather the wide role he has occupied for much of his Arsenal career, but it is understood he will not be given those assurances.
He has, however, play as a centre forward most recently and has impressed in the role and that appears to have swayed his decision to commit his future to Arsenal rather than to try to manufacture a move to either Liverpool or Manchester United who had been linked with a swoop.
