Everton manager David Moyes has opened talks with Rennes over the possibility of loaning French midfielder Yann M’Vila for the remainder of the season with a view to a permanent move.
Queens Park Rangers were understood to be in pole position to sign the 22-year-old French international midfielder, who has been capped 22 times by his country, in a £7million deal earlier this week as manager Harry Redknapp continues his overhaul of the squad at Loftus Road.

But Russian clubs Rubin Kazin and Zenit St Petersburg complicated things when entering the race along with Fulham, who have since cooled their interest because of the asking price.

And now Everton are reported to be interest in securing a loan deal for M’Vila, who was once a target for Arsenal, until the end of the season before turning the move into a permanent deal in the summer worth a total of £8.2million
Everton are looking to bring in a midfielder in the transfer window to cover the potential threat of losing Belgian international Marouane Fellaini, who has a £22million release clause in his contract which could be triggered by interested parties Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal.
