Old Trafford youngster to be sent on loan to Bundesliga side.
Manchester United striker Federico Macheda is set to join Bundesliga side Stuttgart on loan for the remainder of the season.

Stuttgart, currently mid-table in the Bundesliga, are to beat off competition from Italian and Spanish sides to capture 21-year-old forward Macheda, who could seal a permanent move away from Old Trafford with his contract due to expire at the end of next season.
Macheda’s agent told Tutto Mercato Web: “We are at an advanced point with Stuttgart. Negotiations are going well.
“He is a player who is liked by a lot of clubs. Two Spanish ones, for example, are looking to intervene. There are Italian sides too, from Siena to Bologna and others, but I think that Sir Alex Ferguson wants to send him to a foreign side outside of the peninsula. He’ll join a club on loan with the option to be signed outright as his contract expires in June 2014.”
Macheda shot onto the scene as an 18-year-old when scoring on his Manchester United debut, but has played only 36 times for the club in total, scoring five times. He has had relatively unsuccessful loan spells at Sampdoria in Italy and Queens Park Rangers.
