Danish international defender Jores Okore is wanted by at least six Premier League sides and his representatives are understood to be in talks with English clubs over a move.

Okore, born in Ivory Coast but who has four caps for the Danish national team, has caught the eye with his performances since making his league debut in 2011, including helping FC Nordsjaelland to be crowned Danish Superliga champions last season.

The giant 20-year-old has been watched by scouts from across Europe including representatives from Chelsea, who faced Nordsjaelland in the Champions League earlier this season, Manchester United, Liverpool, Newcastle United, Sunderland and Fulham.

Fulham were understood to be leading the race for the £4million rated centre-back, but his representative Nikola Juric told Calciomercato: “These are only rumours. Negotiations ongoing with any club? No comment.

“Obviously Jores would like to prove himself in more competitive leagues, but we have no hurry. It could happen in January or in the summer. He is an intelligent guy and a model professional. The only thing I can say for sure is that any choice won’t be made for economic reasons. We seek a project and not the money.”
