Reinforcements on the way to DW Stadium?
Wigan manager Roberto Martinez is on the trail of Liverpool’s Sebastian Coates and Wolves’ Ronald Zubar as he looks to bring in defensive reinforcements to aid the club’s Premier League survival bid.

Martinez made a centre-back his priority after Saturday’s defeat to Sunderland, which pushed Wigan back into the relegation zone, with Ivan Ramis ruled out through injury to join Antolin Alcaraz, who has missed much of the season with a calf problem, on the sidelines.
He has targeted a move for Uruguayan international Coates, who has been made available for loan by Liverpool, and is also considering Wolves defender Ronald Zubar, according to the Daily Telegraph.
“What is clear is that we weren’t strong enough defensively,” Martinez said after the defeat to Sunderland. “If Ramis had been on the pitch it would have been a very different situation. I need to make sure we rectify that and bring someone in who will give us the same strength Ivan was giving us.
“Antolin is still injured and we need to see how quickly he is going to be available because it is very unfair that the players who are here are having to cope with a lack of really good player alternatives for such a long period.”
