Old Trafford side keen on Benfica defender.
Italian source TuttoMercato claim that Man United have made their interest in Benfica centre-back Ezquiel Garay known to the Portuguese club.

The £15m rated defender is seen as a long term replacement for Rio Ferdinand and could well be available given Benfica’s well publicized financial problems.
United have sent representatives to run the rule over 26 year old Garay at games against Sporting Lisbon, Olhanense
and most recently for Benfica’s big encounter with Porto encounter.
Benfica are three points clear at the top of the Portuguese Liga but are in something of a financial pickle and may well listen to cut-price offers for the 26-year-old this summer.
Juventus are also said to be keen on the battling defender who has 11 international caps to his name and is successfully righting his career after a troubled three year stint at Real Madrid, indeed the La Liga side will receive a significant portion of any funds garnered from Garay’s sale.
