Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is ready to put the in ground work to woo two top talents he is prepared to break the bank for this summer.

The Russian billionaire has set his sights on Napoli forward Edinson Cavani and Malaga midfielder Isco and will fork out as much as a combined £70m to convince the player’s respective employers to sell.

The West London side have been looking to bring in a ‘marquee’ striker signing for some weeks and though Demba Ba was brought in this month, and has proven something of a success already, Abramovich is keen to bring in a big name forward who’s capture may well lead to the departure of Fernando Torres.

The £50m forward has consistently failed to come close to justifying the fee paid to Liverpool for his services and Roman Abramovich may well be ready to listen to big money offers for the Spaniard.

Chelsea will look to bring in Napoli forward with the promise of a move to a side that can challenge for major honours, as evidenced by their Champions League success last term.

The former Palermo man has scored an astonishing 26 goals in 25 games in all competitions this season and that follows 33 goals in each of the last two seasons at the San Paolo.

Now Abramovich wants to lure the 25 year old Uruguayan to the club and is ready to offer him a huge salary increase in order lure him from his Serie A side and as much as £45m to the Naples club to get the deal done.

Isco has a £17.6m release clause and with Malaga being banned from European competition next term it seems very plausible that the young Spanish Under 21 international would seek to leave his La Rosaleda side if one of Europe’s ‘Elite’ came calling.

There is talk of a possible new deal being offered to the Spanish Under 21 international, one that would see that release clause dramatically increase and with this in mind Abramovich will offer up to £25m, a fee that could well tempt the financially troubled side.

The pull of joining Spanish team-mates Juan Mata, Fernando Torres, Oriol Romeu and Cesar Azpilicueta may also be a plus in Chelsea’s favour.

Chelsea also did their cause some good when they elected to loan out young Brazilian Lucas Piazon to Malaga for the remainder of the current campaign.

Isco is seen by many at Chelsea as an ideal long term replacement for Frank Lampard, with the veteran likely to leave when his contract comes to an end this summer.
