Emirates Stadium side to make move for Nou Camp attacker.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is readying a move for Barcelona youngster Isaac Cuenca according to the Express.
Newcastle United vs Arsenal tickets still available
The Gunners have been monitoring the 21 year old winger for some time but their interest cooled following a serious knee injury that has ruled out the Catalan for the first half of the current campaign.
Cuenca has now recovered from his seven month lay-off but faces a battle to force his way into Tito Vilanova’s first team set-up and could therefore be interested in a move to the Premier League.
The adaptable attacker, who can play either in a supporting striker role or more commonly on the flanks, will have to fight the likes of Pedro, David Villa, Cristian Tello and Alexis Sanchez to earn a spot in Barcelona’s front-line alongside Lionel Messi. It may be a fight he is unlikely to win.
Cuenca is a stylish performer who is comfortable on the ball and could well be a wide attacker who could take up Theo Walcott’s role now that the England man has successfully proved himself as a striker.
