Kaka’s move back to former club AC Milan is back on despite failing to negotiate a price with Real Madrid.

Brazilian international Kaka was set to hold talks over a return to the San Siro, where he first made his name in the European game, but AC Milan were unable to reach an agreement with Real Madrid.

That was thought to be the end of any homecoming transfer for the 30-year-old with AC Milan admitting defeat and turning their attention to capturing Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli.

But it now appears that both players could be heading to Milan before the end of the month with Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid assistant Aitor Karanka telling Sky Sports that the club are “still negotiating over the Kaka situation”.

Kaka’s Brazilian international team-mate Robinho, meanwhile, has pledged his immediate future to AC Milan having been linked with a return to former club Santos this month. He will now be at the San Siro until at least the end of the season.
