West Brom striker returns to the Hawthorns after embarrassing incident.
West Brom striker Peter Odemwingie was made to look rather idiotic yesterday after he turned up at Loftus Road despite the fact that his Baggies side had not given him permission to speak to the West London side according to Sky Sports.
fanatix tickets – Barclays Premier League tickets are still available for this weekend’s games.
West Brom vs Spurs tickets are on sale from £15 for this Sunday’s match at the Hawthorns
Speaking of the incident QPR boss Harry Redknapp said “wires got crossed” and that any deal to bring the Nigerian striker to the club had actually fallen through.
Redknapp told Sky Sports News: “I feel sorry for the lad and the way things have turned out. I think he was advised that he should turn up, that the club had made an offer and it was accepted.
“I think the wires must have got crossed somewhere.”
Sky Sports News had pictured Odemwingie driving around Loftus Road in the false assumption that he was to complete a move to QPR even though the two sides had not reached an agreement about any potential deal.
QPR did however have a productive transfer deadline day, capturing the signings of defender Christopher Samba and Spurs duo Jermaine Jenas and Andros Townsend.
One wonders just what the future holds for Odemwingie back at West Brom after this rather embarrassing incident.
