Old Trafford side given chance to start ball rolling on summer striker signing.
Man United have been given permission to speak to Polish international Robert Lewandowski by a Borussia Dortmund side who are ready to sell the in-form forward according to talkSPORT.
fanatix tickets- Sunderland vs Manchester United tickets are on sale from £27 for the match on March 30th at the Stadium of Light.
The 24 year old has been in fine form over the past 18 months, scoring 30 goals last term to help Jurgen Klopp’s side to a domestic double and another 19 in 29 appearances thus far this term.
Lewandowski has seen his Dortmund side fall way off the pace and now sit some 12 points off the top spot and in real danger of losing the Bundesliga title they have won in both of the last two seasons.
Sir Alex Ferguson was apparently looking to sign Lewandowski last summer but instead opted to bring in Robin Van Persie and though the Scot has the Dutchman, Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck he is apparently still interested in the Bundesliga goal machine.
Of those aforementioned players it is perhaps Chicharito who may be the most likely to seek an exit with the Mexican international still not playing a prominent role in the Old Trafford first team, despite scoring regularly.
Bayern Munich are also apparently invited to talk with Lewandowski but the powerful forward may find a move to a Bundesliga rival a tough option to consider given the rivalry that exists between the two sides.
