Arsenal to Offload Six Ahead of Moves to Sign Striker, Right-Back & Holding Midfielder

In order to help cover the costs of any additions Arsene Wenger has been told to reduce the club’s wage bill. Though the North London club do adopt with a salary ceiling the sheer number of players in Arsenal’s expansive squad is in some ways rendering this plan obsolete.

Therefore instead of continuing to loan out players en masse Wenger will look to seriously trim his Arsenal squad.

Sebastien Squillaci and Andrei Arshavin see their contracts come to an end this summer and will not be offered new deals. As well as their departures Wenger is banking on selling another quartet of questionable talents he can well afford to sell.

Danish forward Nicklas Bendtner, currently on loan at Juventus, will be made available and could be sold at a relative discount so as to finally sell a player who hasn’t been involved in Arsenal first team action for quite some time, having spent last season on loan at Sunderland.

Marouane Chamakh, Johan Djourou and Park Chu-young, away at West Ham, Hannover and Celta Vigo respectively, are all also considered surplus to requirements and nominal fees will probably be accepted for all three.

Moroccan Chamakh cost Arsenal nothing so therefore one would imagine a small fee would see the 28 year old permanently leave the club after a very disappointing spell at Arsenal.

Johan Djourou hasn’t managed a single minute of Premier League action this season and his loan move to Hannover could lead to a permanent switch to the Bundesliga. South Korean Park Chu-Young has done relatively well in La Liga and doesn’t seem to be in Arsene Wenger’s plans for the long term having failed to impress the Gunners boss.
