Ivory Coast international striker wanted at Upton Park.

West Ham have added £12million rated Ivory Cost international striker Wilfried Bony to their summer wishlist.

The Upton Park club have first refusal on signing England international forward Andy Carroll for £17million as part of the season-long loan deal from parent club Liverpool that he is enjoying this season.

But with Newcastle also interested in taking Carroll back to St James’ Park two years after selling him for £33million there is no guarantee that the 24-year-old will want to turn his temporary spell with West Ham into a permanent stay.

As a result, West Ham have had the 24-year-old Bony watched in action at the African Cup of Nations for his country and in action in the Dutch Eredivisie for Vitesse Arnhem as they search for a new forward to sign in the summer. Bony, an international team-mate of the likes of Didier Drogba and Yaya Toure, has scored 16 goals in 18 games and is the leading scorer in the Eredivisie.

Ironically, Newcastle were reported to have made a bid to sign Bony in the January transfer window, but they instead opted to sign Yoan Gouffran from Bordeaux along with four others stars from the French Ligue 1.
