Old Trafford side keen on Estadio Dragao duo.
Man United boss Sir Alex Ferguson continues to scout young talents as he plans for the future with a bid for FC Porto pair James Rodriguez and Eliaquim Mangala according to Italian source TuttoMercato.
fanatix tickets- Sunderland vs Manchester United tickets are on sale from £27 for the match on March 30th at the Stadium of Light.
Then Scot has had scouts monitoring French Under 21 centre-back Mangala and may feel that the former Standard Liege man could act as a good long term option. This may be in relation to Rio Ferdinand’s age or perhaps Nemanja Vidic’s consistent injury problems.
Mangala certainly has the potential to make it at Old Trafford but isn’t perhaps all that experienced at the highest level so a lot could depend on just how much FC Porto would demand for a player they brought in for just £5m in August 2011.
A move for Colombian James Rodriguez on the other hand will not come cheap. The 21 year old has helped the Estadio Dragao side to back to back titles in his first two seasons at the club and is arguably in the best form of his career right now.
The former Banfield man has been scoring and assisting at an alarming rate, and is perhaps the reason why Jackson Martinez is the top scorer in the Primera Liga.
Rodriguez is providing similar creativity to his national team, being the chief supply line for Radamel Falcao.
Ferguson may well see the young adaptable attacker as the ideal replacement for Nani, who seems to be surplus to requirements at Man United.
Sir Alex Ferguson has brought in a host of players from the Portuguese top tier over the years and may feel that this summer is the right time to do so again.
