Everton are the latest club to take an interest in Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard according to the Daily Star.

The Toffees join the likes of Man United, PSG, LA Galaxy and a number of Chinese Premier League sides in the race for the in-form 34 year old who is out of contract in the summer.

The England international is yet to be handed a new contract by his West London side and David Moyes is said to be ready to offer the former West Ham man a three year contract but apparently won’t be able to come up with anything more than £80k a week, which is probably around half Lampard’s current salary.

Lampard has displayed a marked improvement in form since Rafa Benitez took over as Blues boss, netting seven goals in his last eight Premier League appearances.

He will have seen how Phil Neville has thrived since his move from Man United to the Merseyside club, with the 36 year old still playing a pivotal role in the Toffees first team.

Chelsea may well still be planning to offer Lampard a new contract but the longer the season goes on the more likely it appears that the goal-scoring midfielder may be on his way to the exit.
