Man United midfielder Anderson has caused something of a stir with recent comments he has made to Globo Esporte. In these statements the Brazilian international has stated that he has attempted to make an Old Trafford exit on many occasions according to Sky Sports.

The 24 year old has struggled to retain a spot in Sir Alex Ferguson’s first team set-up in recent seasons and has battled poor form and issues concerning his weight during this period and has repeatedly been linked with a move away from the Premier League table toppers.

Anderson is quoted as saying;

“What can I say? I have three more years of contract, I have tried to leave many times and never succeeded to do so.”

One wonders how Ferguson will take such comments and if he is sufficiently displayed by this public airing of his situation then he may just get the exit he is seemingly longing to achieve.

Anderson has failed to make an impact at Man United following his £20m move from FC Porto in the summer of 2007. The battling midfielder has racked up 161 appearances, of which 45 were from the bench.
