Stamford Bridge side close in on Colombian hot-shot.
Check in to Manchester City vs Chelsea
Well respected Spanish source El Ecomonimsta claim that Chelsea are in advanced talks to sign Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao.
fanatix tickets – Manchester City vs Chelsea tickets are on sale from £48 for the match on February 24th at the Etihad Stadium.
Indeed this source points out that talks are at such an advanced stage that Real Madrid are said to be ready to look at other potential striking targets.
The Colombian international has been in fine form this season, ably raising the bar following a hugely successful first season at the Vicente Calderon, and it seems entirely plausible that Atletico Madrid would choose to cash in on the former FC Porto man as they have done on many other occasions when it comes to their most prized assets.
Falcao scored 36 goals in his first season at the La Liga side, coming after a 72 goals haul in two terms in Portugal, and has scored 24 goals in 25 matches thus far during the current campaign to split Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid in the table.
With Fernando Torres continuing to struggle, after an initial upturn in form following Rafa Benitez’s arrival at Stamford Bridge, there seems every chance Blues owner Roman Abramovich would look to bring in a ‘marquee’ signing that would both appease the Chelsea supporters following a disappointing season and also help improve the West London club’s atttack.
