Check in to PSG vs Marseille

David Beckham is set to make his debut for Paris Saint-Germain against Marseille on Sunday in Ligue 1 after being named in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad for the game.

Beckham joined the big-spending French side on a free transfer in January having left the Los Angeles Galaxy at the end of the MLS season and was initially set to make his first appearance in a PSG shirt against Sochaux last weekend having been put through his paces in training.

He did not make the PSG squad for that game, which ended with a surprise 3-2 defeat, and is now set to make his debut when PSG host title rivals Marseille on Sunday, a game which could have a major say on where the championship will be heading at the end of the season. PSG lead the standings by three points from Lyon with Marseille in third place, five points adrift of the leaders.

Beckham, who is donating his entire salary during his time at PSG to children’s charities in Paris, is in manager Ancelotti’s 20-man squad for the game and is likely to be named on the bench despite Thiago Motta, Mamadou Sakho and Thiago Silva all being ruled out.
