Swansea face a summer struggle to hold onto Capital One Cup hero Ashley Williams, amid interest from Premier League giants Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham, according to the Metro.

Williams skippered the Swans to an emphatic 5-0 win over Bradford City in the League Cup final on Sunday but could leave the Liberty Stadium before Swansea’s first European match.

Liverpool are favourites to land the talented 28-year-old, with Reds boss Brendan Rodgers keen for a reunion with the Wales international whom he managed in South Wales last term.

Rodgers agreed not to sign any players from his former club for a year – despite the summer addition of Joe Allen – but that agreement expires at the end of the current season.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are in need of defensive reinforcements in the summer after more shaky displays from Thomas Vermaelen and Per Mertesacker this season.

Tottenham, however, are well-equipped at centre-half are only likely to move for Williams if one of Michael Dawson or Steven Caulker join William Gallas in leaving White Hart Lane in the summer.

It is understood that Swansea are reluctant to lose Williams but will accept a hefty offer, particularly if they can find a younger, cheaper replacement.
