AC Milan striker Stephan El Shaarawy has signed a new contract with the club until 2018.

The 20-year-old has come of age this season, netting 16 goals in 25 appearances in the Serie A, including a fine striker against City rivals Inter last weekend.

The Italy international has been linked with big-money moves to Real Madrid and Arsenal but revealed his pride to play for the Rossoneri on social networking site twitter.

“I am delighted to renew. I am proud to wear this shirt,” tweeted the Egypitian-born star who is nicknamed the Pharaoh.

El Shaarawy has recent formed an exciting new partnership with January signing Mario Balotelli and there are many who believe the unpredictable but talented pair can fire both club and country to success.

Milan currently sit fourth in the Serie A, one point ahead of Inter but must finish in the top three to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Massimo Allegri’s side hold a 2-0 last-16 lead over Barcelona’s in this year’s competition, heading into next month’s second-leg at the Nou Camp.
