Arsenal are preparing themselves for a summer battle with Spanish giants Barcelona as they look to seal the signature of United Arab Emirates youngster Omar Abdulrahman, according to The Daily Mail.

The 20-year old has attracted the attention of a host of top European sides following a number of impressive performances in last summer’s Olympic Games.

Abdulrahman spent a week on trial at Premier League champions Manchester City earlier in the season but failed to impress the Citizens sufficiently to secure a permanent deal.

That has not deterred the Gunners however who are determined to bring the player to the Emirates.

The talented attacker currently plies his trade for Emirati champions Al Ain but it is thought the club have accepted the likelihood of the player’s departure during the next transfer window.

Arsenal will need to move quickly to secure the player’s signature however with a number of top European sides rumoured to be ready to make a move.

Malaga seem certain to make a bid for the player as they see him as the ideal replacement for Isco who is set to leave the club at the end of the season.

Abdulrahman’s agents are well aware of the potential interest and are keen to hold talks in the coming months with potential suitors as they look to secure a deal for the starlet.
