Old Trafford side could pull off summer transfer coup.
Man United’s chances of luring Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford have been given a big boost as it’s been revealed that the 28 year old Real Madrid man wants to return to the Premier League club according to The Sun.
Sir Alex Ferguson is cautiously optimistic of being able to complete a summer coup to sign the Portuguese international, who is willing to accept Man United’s wage offer, even though it is dwarfed by the £500k a week deal PSG are said to be ready to pay the Real Madrid star.

Ronaldo is yet to put pen to paper on a new Real Madrid deal and with just over two years to run on his current contract Real Madrid president Florentino Perez may have to consider offers for their £80m signing to avoid losing their prized asset on a free transfer in 2015.
Ronaldo has been a massive success since his move to La Liga, scoring an incredible 185 goals in 184 appearances for the Spanish giants.
Man United appear ready to make an offer, which this source states would be around £65m, to bring back their former hero and with Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho’s future at the Bernabeu in the balance there is perhaps a realistic chance that such a move could come to fruition this summer.
Man United are willing to hand Ronaldo a £250k a week contract, bringing him level with Wayne Rooney’s earnings, and an increase on the current £215k a week deal he receives at Real Madrid.
Ferguson has lavished praise on his former star stating; Fergie said: “Cristiano is mature now. He’s 28 and he’s at the peak of his career.
“With the fitness he’s got — he never misses a game and he’s never injured — you expect him to play at his peak until 32 or 33 easily.”
Asked how his side would cope with Ronaldo when Man United take on Real Madrid in their Champions League second leg encounter the Scot joked; “I’ve got a plan. It’s called a machete. Plan B is the machine gun!”
Man United have reportedly made contact with Ronaldo’s representatives and have been told that the forward is open to a return to the club that put him on the footballing map.
