Anfield centre-back wanted by big-spending Russians.
Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel is a transfer target for big-spending Russian side Zenit St Petersburg with the centre-back set to quit Anfield in the summer.
Skrtel has been left out by manager Brendan Rodgers in recent week and the Sunday People report that the decision came as he plans for life without the Slovakian international next season.

The 28-year-old Skrtel’s omission from the Liverpool team came just weeks after he had publicly criticised Rodgers for being left out of the club’s FA Cup third round defeat to League Oldham when saying: “He gave me some explanation, but it’s hard to tell if it was the true reason he gave me.”
Zenit St Petersburg are ready to offer Skrtel a route out of Anfield, with the defender having enjoyed four seasons with the Russian club prior to joining Liverpool in a £6.5million deal in January 2008.
Rodgers is planning to bring in Welsh international Ashley Williams to replace Skrtel having made the Swansea City centre-back his number one target in the summer.
Williams, who won the Capital One Cup with Swansea City last weekend, has also caught the eye of Manchester United and Arsenal but Liverpool hold the upper hand because of Rodgers’ relationship with the 28-year-old from their time together at the Liberty Stadium.
