Just when Arsenal fans thought their season couldn’t get any worse, The Mirror is reporting today that Danish international striker Nicklas Bendtner is set for an early return to The Emirates.

The player is currently on loan at the Serie A side but they are keen to end his temporary deal early after the player was caught drinking and driving in his native Denmark.

Bendtner has been fined £97,000 for the offence and has been banned from driving for three years after he admitted the offence.

He is now awaiting news over whether the Juventus management will seek to sever ties with him or whether the player may still have a future at the club.

Speaking after the court case on Tuesday, Bendtner said, ‘[This is] the worst day of my life. I take full responsibility for what I did. I know that it is very serious. I am aware of that. Now it’s time for me to move on.

‘No one can understand the pain I am going through right now. I can assure you that this is the worst day of my life. I will do everything possible to get back to doing what I love. Everyone makes mistakes in their lives.’

Juventus boss Antonio Conte may not be so keen to give Bendtner another chance however as the Dane has made just nine appearances this season and has failed to score.
