Jan Vertonghen (Tottenham)
Whether at left-back or centre-back the Belgian has been a commanding presence in the Tottenham defence. The former Ajax man has adapted swiftly to life in the Premier League and certainly deserves his place on a list of top performers of the season.
Vertonghen is a great reader of the game and his bursts from defence have also shown his attacking side, has five goals to his name this season already.
Pablo Zabaleta (Man City)
Argentine has been Man City’s best player this term, taking the right-back spot for his own despite stiff competition.
The 28 year old’s strong running, never say die attitude has made him even more of a fans favourite and at times he has been handed the captain’s armband and shown great character in what has at times been a problematic campaign for the Etihad Stadium club.
