Tottenham are set to make a summer move for Roma’s Pablo Osvaldo according to talkSport.

The North London side are keen to bring in reinforcements for the summer in anticipation of expected qualification for the Champions League.

Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas has identified a new striker as his priority after playing this season with just two recognised striker.

While Jermain Defoe has led the line admirably for the side, question marks remain over the attitude of Manu Adebayor after a number of disappointing performances from the Togolese striker this season.

The club were reportedly close to signing Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao during the January transfer window but a move is said to have collapsed after Tottenham failed to agree a fee with the striker’s club Internacional.

That has led to Tottenham making enquiries to Roma about the availability of Osvaldo, who has hit an impressive eleven goals in 22 games for the Serie A side this season.

Spurs are likely to face competition for the player’s signature however with current Serie A leaders Juventus and big spending Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala also reportedly monitoring the player’s availability.

Roma are reportedly keen to sell the player after he fell out with club legend Francesco Totti.
