Borussia Dortmund are set to join the chase for Internacional striker Leandro Damiao according to talkSport.
Reports during the January transfer window had suggested that the North London club were on the verge of sealing the player’s signature but talks are said to have broken down after a fee could not be agreed between the two clubs.
Tottenham are almost certain to return for the player during the summer with the club currently possessing only two recognised strikers.
One of those is Togolese forward Manu Adebayor who has incensed club officials with his poor attitude and disappointing performances this season.
But Spurs may find they now have competition for Damiao’s signature with Bundesliga side Dortmund said to be preparing a bid.
The German giants look set to lose Polish forward Robert Lewandowski this summer with the likes of Manchester United and Bayern Munich amongst a host of top clubs reportedly interested in the player.
Dortmund have reportedly drawn up a short-list of potential replacements that includes the likes of Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko and former Manchester United and Hannover striker Mame Biriam Diouf but reports are suggesting the club have made target man Damiao their preferred choice to replace the out-bound Lewandowski.
