The Mexican stopper was recently linked with a move to Liverpool during the January transfer window and is keen to ply his trade elsewhere next season as he looks to challenge himself at a higher level.
‘I do not regret being here’, said Ochoa, ‘I have adapted to the way of life in France. My future? I think about finishing the season in the best possible way, then I will compare options.
‘However, I cannot deny that I would love to play in other leagues. I want to develop and join a major project.’
Ochoa has been touted as a potential replacement for current Liverpool glovesman Pepe Reina. While Reina was once considered amongst the best goalkeepers in the Premier League, his erratic form in recent seasons may be enough to persuade the Liverpool hierarchy to sell the player.
The Spanish goalie has been linked with moves to Barcelona, who are looking for a replacement for the out-bound Victor Valdes, as well as with Arsenal who are keen to provide competition for their Polish number one Wojciech Szczesny.
Reina’s form has improved in recent weeks but it is thought the club are still keen to explore their options.
