Liverpool are set to make a summer bid for PSG striker Kevin Gameiro according to The Daily Mail.

Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers is rumoured to have made enquiries about the French striker during the January transfer window but saw his approach turned down.

But the club are set to make a renewed effort to seal the player’s signature after the striker expressed his frustration at being left on the bench.

The player believes himself good enough for a place in the starting eleven but has found himself overlooked in favour of the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ezequiel Lavezzi and recently arrived Brazilian wonderkid Lucas Moura.

The likes of Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund have also been linked with the player in recent months and the striker now looks set for a spell abroad.

‘I want to play football every time, I am no different to any player’, said Gameiro.

‘It is difficult to sit on the bench but all big clubs in Europe have the same problems, you can’t play every game but you can be involved.

‘I always wanted to play abroad. At the end of the season, hopefully after we win the title, we can decide about my future.’
