Arsenal will look to land Swansea City pair Michel Vorm and Ashley Williams this summer as Arsene Wenger sets about re-shuffling his defence according to the Sunday People.

Wenger has earmarked a move for Dutch international keeper Vorm and believes he can pick up the 29 year old ‘on the cheap’ as he considers offloading both Wojciech Szczesny and Lukasz Fabianski this summer.

Vorm had a standout season last term but has perhaps not been as impressive during the current campaign but is still seemingly high up on the Arsenal wish-list.

Ashley Williams is also at the top of Wenger’s list of defensive reinforcements and that appears to be an area the Gunners boss is keen to strengthen after seeing his side struggle to maintain a run of good form. Though it is worth noting that the North London club have secured back to back clean sheets over the past week.

This source believes Arsenal could pick up the Welsh international for around £10m though Liverpool are also said to be interested with former Swans boss Brendan Rodgers perhaps having the upper hand in such a race given his relationship with the tough tackler.

Clearly if Arsenal secure a Champions League berth then moves to snap up this pair become a tad easier.

It is perhaps interesting that despite speculation being rife about Wenger’s apparently large transfer warchest the players he is said to be keen on are hardly spectacular or hugely expensive targets.
