Arsenal are planning a big money bid for Fiorentina’s Stevan Jovetic according to The Metro.

The club are sending their scouts to monitor the striker’s performance when his country line up against England next week as they look to prepare a summer bid for the player.

The forward has attracted the interest of a number of top European clubs after some impressive performances for the Viola this season in Serie A. Jovetic has netted twelve times in 27 appearances as he has fired his side to fourth place in the Italian top flight.

Arsenal are prepared to smash their transfer record in the hopes of persuading Jovetic to join them at the Emirates.

Boss Arsene Wenger is keen to bring in attacking reinforcements this summer after being disappointed with the performances of Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski in their debut seasons for the club.

Neither player has managed to adequately fill the boots of Dutch striker Robin Van Persie who left the club to join Manchester United last summer.

Arsenal are likely to face strong competition for the player’s signature, with Manchester City and Juventus also thought to be preparing a bid.

Juventus are hoping to steal a march on their rivals by getting Jovetic’s international team-mate, Mirko Vucinic to extoll the virtues of playing in Turin while they are on international duty together.
