Arsenal defenders Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker have denied reports linking them with summer exits according to Sky Sports.

The pair have insisted they have no desire to leave the Emirates and remain committed to the North London club.

Reports in recent weeks have linked Mertesacker with a move back to his native Germany. A number of Bundesliga sides, including Wolfsburg and his former club Werder Bremen, were reportedly monitoring the player’s availability.

Mertesacker has insisted he is happy in London and has no intentions to leave the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Koscielny’s future has been under speculation after he lost his place in the starting eleven. Reports had suggested the French defender was unhappy with his lack of first team opportunities and would seek a summer departure from the Emirates.

But Koscielny has insisted he remains committed to the club’s cause and is desperate to help the side secure Champions League qualification.

Arsenal’s backline have been in the spotlight this season after a number of high profile mistakes have cost the club valuable points in the race for the Champions League.

The Gunners are currently four points behind city rivals Tottenham in fourth, but can close that gap to just one should they win their game in hand.
