Chelsea Keeper Petr Cech Dismisses Arsenal Rumours

Stamford Bridge goalie keen to remain at the club.

Peter Cech has rubbished speculation he may be on the verge to a move to Arsenal according to Sky Sports.

The Gunners are reportedly in the market for a goalkeeper this summer after manager Arsene Wenger finally ran out of patience with current number one Wojciech Szczesny.

The Polish goalkeeper has failed to replicate his form from last season and has committed a number of high profile errors that has cost the side valuable points in the race for a Champions League qualification spot.

Arsenal have been linked with the likes of Pepe Reina, Victor Valdes and Simon Mignolet in recent months and reports in recent days added Chelsea’s Cech to that list of potential targets.

It has been thought the Stamford Bridge side might consider selling the Czech goalkeeper as they look to satisfy Belgian youngster Thibault Courtois’ desire for first team football.

The Blues are keen not to lose Courtois after he has performed impressively while out on loan at Atletico Madrid.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are thought to be keen on the youngster but it now seems that Chelsea will not be ousting Cech to make room for the 20 year old.

Cech insisted he had no idea where the story came from and was happy to stay at the club. He went on to say he could ‘never imagine’ playing for the Gunners.
