Check in to Torino vs Napoli

Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid have been dealt a significant blow in their attempts to land Napoli striker Edinson Cavani according to talkSport.

The Uruguayan striker has been linked with a host of top European sides after some impressive performances for the Serie A club this season.

Cavani’s goals have fired Napoli into second place in the Italian top flight and he is currently the league’s top scorer.

Reports in recent days suggested that Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis admitted the player could leave the club should a potential suitor match Cavani’s £60 million release clause.

But any clubs hopeful of luring Cavani away from Napoli will be dismayed by the news from the player’s agent, Gennaro Famiglietti, who has insisted the Uruguayan striker is happy to extend his spell at the Italian giants.

Cavani is reportedly enjoying life at the club and is reluctant to move with the 2014 World Cup in Brazil just around the corner.

‘Cavani loves the club and the city,’ said Famiglietti. ‘We have already said that he is ready to stay if the squad can become stronger and new signings can arrive.

‘Few clubs can pay the price for Cavani and this will determine his future. There is no agreement with anybody. The player is ambitious and wants to win titles with Napoli.’

Cavani has proven himself as one of Europe’s top striker since joining Napoli from Palermo.

The forward has scored an astonishing 69 goals in just 96 appearances in Serie A.

Manchester City are hoping to bring in attacking reinforcements this summer as they look to mount an improved bid for the Premier League title.

Chelsea are also desperate for a new striker after finally losing patience with misfiring Spanish forward Fernando Torres.
