Anfield side once again target talented wide-man.
Liverpool and West Ham target, Eljero Elia, may be on his way to CSKA Moscow and the Russian club prepare themselves to lose star player Alan Dzagoev in the summer, TalkSport reports.
The 26-year-old winger has impressed at Werder Bremen this season and the Premier League duo have been going back to take a closer look.
Elia joined the German side from Juventus last summer after failing to make an impression in Serie A, but he has since returned to the division where he made a name for himself with Hamburg.
Liverpool had reportedly been close to bringing him to Merseyside in 2011 before he made the switch to Italy but have kept tabs on him ever since and Hammers boss, Sam Allardyce, is said to be a long time admirer of the player.
However, Russian giants CSKA Moscow have apparently already made contact according to reports in Russian newspaper, Izvestia.
Playmaker Alan Dzagoev is still attracting interest from clubs from across Europe and it is thought that they won’t be able to hold on to him for much longer.
Elia has made 25 appearances for Bremen this season as they struggle to make any impact, laying on three assists and scoring once.
A fee of around £6 million could be enough to prize him away, but as he is only eight months in to a four year deal the German side are under no obligation to sell, especially as they are set to lose Chelsea loanee, Kevin De Bruyne at the end of the season too.
