Check in to Manchester City vs Newcastle United

Newcastle United left-back Davide Santon has issued a ‘come and get me’ plea to AC Milan according to talkSport.

The Italian club have reportedly been monitoring the player’s progress in recent months ahead of a potential summer bid for the player.

The AC Milan scouts have provided glowing feedback to the club and the Serie A side are set to test Newcaslte’s resolve with a summer bid.

Santon joined Newcastle from AC Milan’s bitter rivals Inter for £5 million in 2011 but it appears the Italian would have no problem returning to the San Siro for his former club’s adversaries.

Should the left-back complete a summer deal to the Rossoneri, he would follow in the footsteps of former Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli, who currently plays for AC Milan after coming through the ranks at Inter.

‘A return to Italy? I’ve heard of the interest from Milan in me and that is really pleasing,” Santon told Gazzetta dello Sport.

‘I’m not sure what would happen if another Italian club came in for me, but I’d seriously think about packing my bags for Milan.’

One potential obstacle to the move could be that Santon’s fiancée is currently expecting a baby in May, and the pair may decide to remain in Newcastle rather than risk unsettling themselves at the baby’s birth.
