Young midfielder has been impressive during loan spell with Watford.
Arsenal are considering a summer bid for Chelsea youngster Nathaniel Chalobah according to The Express.
The young star has been attracting the attention of the North London club’s scouts during an impressive spell on loan at Championship side Watford.
Chalobah’s good form has seen him become an integral part of Stuart Pearce’s England under-21 side and he looks set to play a key role in for the side during this summer’s European Championships in Israel.
Arsenal are hoping to tempt the player to make the short move across London with the offer of first-team football.
But it is not clear how different that would make his prospects to his current options at Chelsea.
Veteran midfielder Frank Lampard’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and it currently appears like the club will not be offering the England star a new deal.
That has come to the shock of the Stamford Bridge faithful, especially after some impressive performances this season from Lampard in the Chelsea midfield, but the logic behind the club’s thinking may lie with Chalobah.
The player is highly-rated by the Stamford Bridge hierarchy and may well find himself fast-tracked into the first-team should Lampard leave the club this summer.
