Man United are reportedly open to selling Serbian defender Nemanja Vidic to AC Milan according to Goal.com.

The injury prone centre-back is apparently top of the San Siro side’s wish-list and will listen to offers of £10m+ for the 31 year old, who will have a year to run on his current Man United contract this summer.

Vidic has played something of a bit-part role in Man United’s defence over the past two campaigns, making just 19 Premier League starts since August 2011 and Sir Alex Ferguson may well be ready to start afresh with his back-line considering that Rio Ferdinand is set to be out of contract at the end of the season.

Ferguson may well concede that the former Spartak Moscow man is past his best and may well see his injury concerns worsen over the remainder of his current deal and is therefore perhaps willing to allow the usually rock solid battle to leave.

Massimiliano Allegri may well feel his side are still to effectively replace Thiago Silva, who left for PSG last summer and this source believes Vidic could be seen as an ideal, if ageing, partner for Frenchman Philippe Mexes.
