PSG boss Carlo Ancelotti is hoping to persuade David Beckham to extend his stay at the French club according to BBC Sport.

The former England captain joined the club in a shock deadline day move during the January transfer window.

Beckham reportedly had offers from 11 separate clubs after his contract expired with MLS side LA Galaxy.

There were suggestions that Beckham had joined the Qatari backed club for financial reasons but the player put those suggestions to bed by announcing he would donating his entire salary to a children’s charity.

Beckham’s current contract is only set to last five months as it expires at the end of the season but former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is keen to see him stay on with the Ligue 1 side.

Beckham recently drew praise from his PSG team-mate Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who insisted the former Manchester United midfielder had the physical condition of a 25 year old.

PSG have splashed the cash over the last eighteen months, bringing in the likes of Ibrahimovic, Brazilian defender Thiago Silva, young wonderkid Lucas Moura and Argentine forward Ezequiel Lavezzi.

But the club have still found room for Beckham in their star-studded line up. The player has made four appearances in holding midfield for the French giants.
