Stamford Bridge side close in on Colombian hot-shot.
Chelsea are confident that they will win the race to sign much sought after striker Radamel Falcao according to the Daily Star.
The Blues have been monitoring the Colombian for some months now, dating all the way back to August when the Atletico Madrid man struck a hat-trick against the Blues in the UEFA Super Cup Final and this source believes that extensive talks between the two clubs are edging the West London side towards a deal to sign the in-form striker.
This source claims that either Fernando Torres or loaned out keeper Thibaut Courtois could be used in a part exchange deal to land the 27 year old striker who may well be seen by Roman Abramovich as an ideal ‘Marquee’ signing for the summer after what has proven to be a poor campaign for the Stamford Bridge side.
Falcao has scored 27 goals in all competitions thus far this season and managed 36 in his first season in Spain and this comes after scoring freely with FC Porto so Chelsea could have every reason to believe that the Atletico Madrid man is more than capable of making an impact in the Premier League.
