Arsenal are considering making an audacious bid for Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is keen to bring in attacking reinforcements this summer with the Frenchman looking to add to last summer’s forward additions Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski.

The pair were brought to the club last summer to replace Dutch striker Robin Van Persie who left the club to join current Premier League leaders Manchester United.

But neither of them have managed to convincingly fill the gap left by RVP and Wenger looks set to return to the transfer market for a striker once again this summer.

The club are reportedly considering approaching Manchester City for Dzeko who looks set to leave the Etihad this summer.

City boss Roberto Mancini is prepared to let the striker leave as he is keen to revitalise his squad after a disappointing season from the Premier League Champions.

Mancini believes his squad to have become complacent after landing the Premier League title last season and is keen to bring in new players who he believes will be hungry for success.

One potential obstacle could be the transfer fee City are likely to demand as they are keen to recoup the majority of the £27 million they paid to Wolfsburg for the player in 2011.

Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are also thought to be keen on signing Dzeko who has netted 38 goals in 102 appearances for Man City, of which 43 were from the bench.
