Crystal Palace boss Ian Holloway is preparing a summer bid for Stoke’s Charlie Adam according to The Mirror.

The Championship side are currently pushing for a place in this season’s play-offs. They currently sit in fourth place in the division and are six points clear of Leicester in seventh with just six games left to play.

Holloway acknowledges that anything can happen in the play-offs but should his Eagles soar into the Premier League, the former Blackpool man has made Adam his number one summer target.

The pair know each other well from their time at Bloomfield Road where they made a name for themselves as Blackpool valiantly battled to remain in the Premier League.

Adam went on to move to Liverpool and then Stoke but has failed to recapture the same form he used to display for the Tangerines.

The Scottish midfielder currently finds himself left out of Stoke boss Tony Pulis’ first team plans and could be open to reviving his flagging career with Holloway in the capital.

Holloway tried to bring Adam to the club on loan as Palace look to reverse a slight end of season wobble but were rebuffed in their attempts to sign the player. They are likely to have more like in securing a permanent deal for Adam come the end of the season.
