Check in to Tottenham Hotspur vs Everton

Celtic manager Neil Lennon is being lined up to take over at Goodison Park should manager David Moyes decide to leave Everton this summer according to The Mirror.

Moyes’ current deal is set to expire at the end of the season and the club are desperate to hold on to the Scottish manager.

But the Toffees are making contingency plans in case Moyes does decide to leave Goodison Park and have identified Celtic’s Lennon as the man to take over the reins.

Everton would prefer for Moyes to remain at the club but he manager has been worryingly silent about his future and it is thought he may be waiting to see if the club qualify for Europe next season.

Moyes has done a great job at Everton since joining the club in 2002, transforming them from a club in the bottom half of the Premier League table to one that is regularly challenging for the European qualification spots.

The Scottish manager has performed the job with a limited budget and has even been touted as a potential replacement for Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.

Everton believe they see the same qualities in Lennon, as he has guided Celtic to the top of the Scottish Premier League at the same time as leading them into the knockout stages of the Champions League, which included a memorable win for the club over Catalan giants Barcelona.
