Brazilian striker ignoring transfer rumours.
Tottenham target Leandro Damaio has claimed he is staying calm and ignoring speculation regarding his future according to Sky Sports.
The Internacional striker has been repeatedly linked with a move to White Hart Lane with the North London club thought to have been close to sealing a move for the striker during the January transfer window.
The transfer reportedly broke down after the two clubs failed to agree a fee for the Brazilian but Tottenham are expected to make a renewed attempt to secure the player’s signature this summer.
Spurs are likely to face stiff competition for the player though. A number of top European sides are thought to be interested in Damiao with Fiorentina the latest club to have reportedly approached Internacional regarding a summer move for the player.
The 23 year old insists he is doing his best to ignore the speculation and focus on putting in good performances for Internacional.
Damaio expressed his desire to one day move to Europe but insisted he is in no rush to secure a deal.
Tottenham boss Andre Vilas-Boas has made bringing in a new striker one of his top summer priorities after Manu Adebayor’s disappointing season since joining on a permanent deal from Manchester City last summer and Jermain Defoe’s loss of form since the turn of the year.
