Stamford Bridge return on the cards?

Check in to Chelsea vs Sunderland

Chelsea are reportedly ready to welcome back Jose Mourinho to Stamford Bridge this summer but only if the West London side is ready to meet two conditions the 50 year old boss has demanded according to TuttoMercato.

The Real Madrid manager, who seems destined to leave the Bernabeu at the end of the current campaign, will request a deal worth £12m a season which would make the Portuguese boss the highest paid manager in the Premier League by quite some distance.

Mourinho will also demand that Frank Lampard is offered a new contact, with the veteran midfielder set to see his current deal end this summer and with seemingly no new offer forthcoming.

Team-mate Ashley Cole was in a similar predicament but Chelsea were happy to offer the full-back a contract extension but as yet Lampard has not been handed a similar deal.

Mourinho believes that the England international still had a lot to offer the Stamford Bridge club and given his form this term it would appear that the Real Madrid boss is correct.

Though the 34 year old has been handed just 17 Premier League starts he has still managed to net a dozen goals and has seen a big improvement in form since the arrival of Rafa Benitez as interim Blues boss.

One would imagine that if Roman Abramovich is keen to bring Mourinho back to Chelsea that these two conditions may well be ones the Russian is willing to meet.
