Anfield boss keen to bring new players to the club this summer.

Check in to Liverpool vs West Ham United

Brendan Rodgers has revealed he is keen to bring in a number of new recruits to Liverpool this summer according to Goal.com.

The Liverpool boss is eager to bring in fresh talent as he looks to avoid the problems that have damaged the team’s performances in the past.

The former Swansea boss made reference to Liverpool’s games earlier in the season when an injury to Italian striker Fabio Borini left the club with just one recognised striker in the form of Uruguayan forward Luis Suarez.

With Andy Carroll loaned out to West Ham on a season long loan deal, the club were at some points forced to play midfielder Jonjo Shelvey up front as they found their attacking options limited.

Rodgers moved to rectify the problem during the January transfer window, bringing in Daniel Sturridge from Chelsea and Brazilian youngster Philippe Coutinho from Inter Milan.

The 40 year old Anfield boss is hoping that with a few additions to his squad this summer, the club could find themselves capable of challenging for a Champions League qualification spot next season.

Rodgers may find his transfer options limited though with the Liverpool hierarchy informing him he will have just £20 million to spend on new recruits.
