Roma have joined the race to sign St. Etienne’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang according to Sky Sports.

The striker has been in fine form for his club this season as he helped lift them to fourth place in Ligue 1.

The club could be set for a place in next season’s Champions League competition but the French side remain unlikely to hold on to Aubameyang beyond the summer.

The player’s impressive performances have reportedly been attracting the attention of a number of top European sides.

Newcastle are reportedly hoping to tempt Aubameyang to join their growing contingent of former Ligue 1 stars and are hoping to pair the striker with Papiss Cisse.

Arsenal are also in the market for a new striker after Gunners boss Arsene Wenger deemed summer signings Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski not to be up to scratch.

Aubemyang has hinted he would be interested in joining a Premier League side and believes his club would accept a bid in the region of £12 million.

Manchester City and Chelsea have also been linked with the player’s signature but the Premier League’s team are likely to face stiff competition from a number of European sides for the player’s signature.

PSG are reportedly keen to keep the player in France while Roma are now reported to be ready to pay up to £13 million for the player’s services.
